Estimates use the published 2026 federal and Idaho withholding tables with standard assumptions (no local taxes, no benefits beyond what you enter). Your actual withholding depends on your Form W-4 and your employer's payroll setup.

How Idaho paycheck taxes work

Every paycheck in Idaho has federal income tax withheld according to the employee's Form W-4, plus Social Security (6.2% of wages up to the annual wage base) and Medicare (1.45%, with an extra 0.9% above the additional Medicare threshold). Idaho also withholds state income tax from wages, based on the employee's state withholding certificate.

Pre-tax deductions such as a 401(k) contribution or employer health insurance premiums reduce the wages that income tax is calculated on; Social Security and Medicare are still calculated on the gross wages for most of them. The estimate above applies the published 2026 withholding tables for one pay period and annualises the result by the number of pay periods in the year.
